The pastiera, an ancient Neapolitan Easter cake, is a cake of puff pastry filled with a mixture consisting of cottage cheese, boiled wheat, eggs, spices and candied fruit.

The origin of the pastiera is very old and can be traced back to pagan cults when it was prepared to celebrate the arrival of spring, over time it became the custom to prepare it for the feast of Easter.

Here there is the recipe. Enjoy it!!
